Why You Should Join Our Troop...

  • Troop 31 has a great history.  We are the oldest Troop in the Tall Pine Council, BSA.  Troop 31 was founded in October of 1918 and has met in the same building ever since that time.  Troop 31 is older than 99% of troops in the entire country!

  • Our program is outstanding!  Troop 31 always plans a year ahead.  Because we have a troop where the Scouts plan the program we have a great time.  We have a special activity at least once a month.  Usually we go camping somewhere really cool.  Check over our calendar to see where we are going next.

  • We are a family!  Everyone is welcome in Troop 31.  Once you visit, you will find out how friendly our Scouts and leaders are to you.  We have a place waiting for you.

  • Our meeting facility is top notch.  We meet in the gymnasium of Court Street United Methodist Church.  Along with this facility we have a very large Scout Room and access to several other attached rooms.  We also have an outdoor storage facility our troop built in 2001-2002 to house all of our camping equipment.

  • We have year round programming.  Troop 31 has year round programming.  This simply means we don't take the summer off.  We have troop meetings, weekend outings, week long travel trips, summer camps, and more.

  • We have great leaders.  Troop 31 has over 15 leaders at each Monday night meeting.  Several of our leaders grew up in the Scouting program and are Eagle Scouts.  Our leadership keeps growing with the troop!  We currently have several Eagles on our leadership team.

  • Learn skills that will help you in life.  Troop 31 will teach you skills that will help you your entire life.  Leadership is just one of the skills.  You will learn all about the world around you.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!
